The Toykea S Jones Foundation strives to inspire students in our community to pursue academic achievement and growth in engineering disciplines. The scholarships will be awarded to a well rounded student who is academically successful and involved in extra-curricular activities / volunteer work.
PURPOSE:To provide a scholarship to one (1) Norfolk, VA high school graduating senior interested in or intending to pursue an Engineering or Supply Chain Management degree from a 4 year Virginia college or university.
AWARD COMPONENT:One (1) $1,000 scholarship paid over two semesters ($500 in September and $500 in February) selected by the Toykea S Jones Foundation Scholarship Committee.
CRITERIA:
- Applicant must be a Norfolk, VA resident.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.
- Applicant must be applying for financial aid in order to attend college.
- Applicant must be a full-time Virginia college/university freshman in the coming academic year with an interest or intent to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited Virginia college or university.
APPLICATION PROCESS: (APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT)
- Completed typed application form.
- Essay addressed to the Scholarship Committee.
- One (1) letter of recommendation.
- Complete high school transcript with cumulative GPA and class standing/rank.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Annually by March 31st

*Should any of the chosen recipients of the scholarship fail to attend an accredited Virginia college or university the following fall and spring term, then the applicant who was judged as an alternate will receive the award if he or she has enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university with an interest or intent of enrolling in an Engineering major (confirmation of college or university enrollment will be requested prior to funding the award).
